Synthetic Biology Conference Spurs Research

November 23, 2009 -- Top researchers gathered at the seventh annual National Academies Keck Futures Initiative conference to explore the engineering, scientific, and social impact of synthetic biology. To encourage research, the Academies announced the availability of $1 million in seed grants that will be awarded on a competitive basis to conference participants.
