Life & Disability Insurance Basic employer-paid group life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment insurance; short and long-term disability coverage available plus the opportunity to purchase supplemental life insurance at affordable group insurance rates.
   
Employee Assistance Program Confidential employee assistance and referral service, which offers help to employees and family members regarding relationships, stresses, alcohol & drug dependency and emotional concerns.
   
Retirement Planning The National Academies contributes on behalf of eligible employees to a retirement plan after the employee has worked at least 50% of a full-time schedule for 181 calendar days.
403(b) Voluntary Retirement Plan also available for employee contributions.
