Reusable Elastomeric Respirators in Health Care: Considerations for Routine and Surge Use
Released: December 06, 2018
Reusable respirators (specifically, reusable half-facepiece elastomeric respirators) are the standard respiratory protection device used in many industries. Their durability and reusability make them desirable for stockpiling for emergencies, during which large volumes of respirators can be needed. Until now, options for using reusable half-facepiece elastomeric respirators in routine and surge use in health care have not been fully explored.

Released: December 05, 2018
Research on care interventions for individuals with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, as well as on interventions aimed at their caregivers, has expanded tremendously in recent years. The National Institute on Aging has initiated a study with the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine to take stock of the current state of knowledge and inform decision making about which care interventions for individuals with dementia and their caregivers are ready for dissemination and implementation on a broad scale.
Medication-Assisted Treatment for Opioid Use Disorder: Proceedings of a Workshop—in Brief
Released: November 30, 2018
On October 30 and 31, 2018, the Committee on Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) held a 1.5-day workshop in Washington, DC. To support the dissemination of accurate patient-focused information about treatments for opioid use disorder, and to help provide scientific solutions to the current opioid crisis, an ad hoc committee of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine was created to conduct a study of the evidence base on Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for Opioid Use Disorder (OUD).
