The Neuroscience of Gaming: A Workshop

Given the high prevalence of gaming in today’s society, the Institute of Medicine Forum on Neuroscience and Nervous System Disorders, organized a workshop during the Society for Neuroscience 2014 annual meeting, bringing together key stakeholders to explore the neuroscience of electronic gaming, with emphasis on relevant scientific, ethical, and societal issues.

Improving Genetics Education in Graduate and Continuing Health Professional Education: A Workshop

On August 18, 2014, the Institute of Medicine’s Roundtable on Translating Genomic-Based Research for Health will host a public workshop to examine pragmatic approaches to improving genetics education in both graduate and continuing health professional education. Stakeholder groups, including health care providers, graduate health professional education program representatives, professional society representatives, board examiners, and educational specialists will present their perspectives and participate in discussions.
