    The Committee to Review the Dietary Reference Intakes for Sodium and Potassium will be holding a public meeting on March 9, 2018 from 9:30 am – 10:30 am ET via web conference only. During this meeting, Dr. Shiriki Kumanyika from Drexel University will discuss health implications of sodium intake for different subpopulations and will answer questions from the committee members.     The Committee to Review the Dietary Reference Intakes for Sodium and Potassium will hold a public workshop on March 7, 2018 from 8 AM to 5:15 PM ET at the Keck Center in Washington, DC (500 Fifth Street NW, Washington, DC 20001). Attendees may register to attend in-person or listen to the workshop online. Space for in-person attendance is limited and attendees may be asked to view the workshop from an overflow room, should we reach capacity. For in-person attendees there will be an opportunity to address the committee; each individual will have 3 minutes to make his or her remarks.   • Meeting 3: Qualification of Biomarkers and Surrogate Endpoints of Chronic Disease Date: July 30, 2009 - July 31, 2009 (8:30 AM Eastern)

    During this closed meeting, the committee reviewed and deliberated over a draft report produced by committee input. The committee suggested changes and agreed to review the revised draft prior to Meeting 4. The committee also discussed future disemmination efforts.
  • Meeting 2: Qualification of Biomarkers and Surrogate Endpoints in Chronic Disease Date: April 6, 2009 (8:00 AM Eastern)

    This workshop featured presentations concerning current issues in biomarker qualification, as well as existing frameworks for qualification. In addition, the workshop explored decision analysis tools, specific case studies, and contexts of use for biomarker qualification.
  • Nutritional Risk Assessment: Bridging Perspectives, Sharing Methodologies, Identifying Data Challenges Date: February 28, 2009 - March 1, 2009 (8:00 AM Eastern)

    The Institute of Medicine's Food Forum held a 2-day workshop jointly supported by the Interagency Risk Assessment Consortium (IRAC), the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), and the International Life Sciences Institute (ILSI) to explore current and potential uses of risk assessment methodologies to answer nutritional questions.
  • Meeting 1: Qualification of Biomarkers and Surrogate Endpoints in Chronic Disease Date: January 12, 2009 (8:30 AM Eastern)

    The public was invited to attend the two open sessions of this meeting that focused on the current methodologies used for biomarker qualification within the FDA and the various issues that the committee must consider when creating recommendations to the FDA.
