Given the profound negative impacts of violence on the health and well-being of people and communities, particularly in less industrialized countries, the IOM has established a new Forum on Global Violence Prevention to promote research on this issue and encourage more effective prevention. The forum will begin its work with a workshop January 27 and 28, which will focus on violence against women and children.
