The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine Committee to Review Long-Term Effects of Antimalarial Drugs will be having a public session as part of its information gathering activities. The public session will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2019, from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM ET, at the National Academies' Keck Building (500 Fifth Street, NW) in Washington, DC.

This session will feature invited presentations from agencies and topical experts including:

  • Policies regarding the use of antimalarials in the Peace Corps and the Department of State.
  • Neurotoxic mechanisms of antimalarial drugs, in particular mefloquine.

The session will be accessible to the public via a dial-in connection with a web-based platform that will enable projected material to be seen, and in-person attendance (seating is limited).
