Rebecca A. English, M.P.H., is a Program Officer in the Board on Health Sciences Policy of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. She has staffed the Forum on Drug Discovery, Development, and Translation in various capacities since 2009. She was recently a program officer for the consensus study, Ethical and Social Policy Considerations of Novel Technologies for the Prevention of Maternal Transmission of Mitochondrial DNA Diseases. Prior to joining the IOM, she worked on health policy for Congressman Porter J. Goss (FL-14) and then for the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association. Rebecca holds an M.P.H. from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame with a major in Political Science.
