School Success: An Opportunity for Population Health Action – A Workshop
On June 14, the Roundtable on Population Health Improvement held a one-day public workshop at the California Endowment Oakland Conference Center focused on aspects of pre-K through 12th grade education metrics that are relevant and potentially useful to the health sector, given the recognition of education as a key influence on health outcomes and community well-being.
The workshop included the perspectives of experts from the health, education, and other pertinent sectors. Topics that were explored include: examples of education metrics that are being (or could be) used in the health sector--in different settings and at different geographic levels--to measure performance and advance goals shared by the health and education sectors, and the possibilities for, and any available examples of joint accountability payment models linked with achieving one or more educational outcomes.
A proceedings of a workshop-in brief and a complete proceedings based on presentations and discussion at the workshop will be released.
