The Challenge of Treating Obesity and Overweight: Learning What Works and Making it Happen—A Workshop
Treatment for overweight and obesity raise some big questions: What works? What’s emerging? Who delivers it? And who pays for it? Join us on April 6th, 2017 as we explore these questions. You can register to attend either in person or via webcast. Due to room capacity, in-person registration for this workshop is limited.
This workshop from the Roundtable on Obesity Solutions will feature invited presentations and discussions that will explore what is known about current obesity treatment approaches and the challenges involved in implementing them, including their effectiveness (and how “success” is defined); payment for services; training of the workforce that provides the services; and health equity issues involved in treatment. The workshop agenda will also address sustainable collaborations, new insights on implementing treatment-related interventions and policies, and research gaps in addressing treatment challenges. Participants will discuss strategies that hold promise for progress in treating overweight and obesity.
The speakers' PowerPoint slides and a video recording of the proceedings will be available on this page shortly after the workshop.
