The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine consensus report,Guiding Cancer Control: A Path to Transformation, recommended a national strategy for cancer control, based on the principles of systems engineering, to coordinate the priorities and actions of multiple stakeholders, improve resource integration, and promote joint accountability in cancer control. To facilitate discussion on how to implement the report’s recommendations, a working group of 8 people will plan the agenda of a 1.5-day stakeholder forum. The workshop will feature presentations and panel discussions on topics that may include:

• a life course approach to cancer control
• examining and overcoming the tradeoffs across the cancer control system
• building data and knowledge management systems across the cancer control system
• coordination and decision making in a complex adaptive system
• using technology and data to improve quality and outcomes, and promote joint accountability in cancer control.
